POSITION TITLE : Regional Sales Manager

REPORTING TO: Sr. Sales Manager – North America

LOCATION: Western US (Remote)

Scope of Role: The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for a defined book of business that will include both strategic and maintenance accounts within the western US. This role will require the individual to establish and maintain strong relationships with existing customers as well as uncover prospective customers within their geography. The candidate will have a strong background in communicating with all levels of decision makers, have a strong background in sales process and display the ability to work cross-functionally within a manufacturing environment. The individual must have a proven record of having worked with multi-million dollar customers. Success in this role will require the ability to consistently meet/exceed annual operating plans, develop/drive all levels of a sales funnel and provide market knowledge to all levels of the organization.

The position requires up to 60% overnight travel (US).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Build strategic account plans which allow for deep understanding of our growth opportunities

  • Effectively balance account management with active prospecting, with both existing customers and new customers identified with in the geography

  • Build and manage a sales funnel, using CRM, robust enough to allow for year over year growth

  • Provide accurate and timely forecast information to management on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis

  • Work cross-functionally with the commercial organization to inform and support efforts to drive growth initiatives

  • Understand sales processes that focus on messaging value impact to the customer

  • Uncover new business opportunities at existing customers & understand their product life cycles

  • Negotiate pricing and contracts as required

  • Navigate and build strong relationships with key stakeholders within all functions of our organization

  • Provide market and competitive intel to GAST Market Research Manager through customer interactions, prospecting, and attendance at industry tradeshows

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Creation and maintenance of an opportunity funnel that will help the organization achieve its 3-year growth goal

  • Understand where growth opportunities lie within our current customer base

  • Support new product launches and other key initiatives as defined by Product Manager

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS OR EQUIVALENCIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or Technical field strongly preferred

  • At least five (5) years equivalent work experience with proven professional sales and/or business development experience

  • Experience utilizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools is preferred

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and message to all levels in the organization

  • Proven track record of delivering sales results

  • Pneumatic industry experience preferred

  • Strong personal leadership and experience working in manufacturing environment

  • Project management experience

  • Strong negotiation and contract review skills

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to manage priorities as articulated by direct manager

  • Must have ability to build relationships with current / new customers

  • Must have high degree of leadership and ability to influence cross-functionally

  • Must be self-motivated, show initiative, anticipate, and prevent issues by executing advanced problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrate ability to lead and work well in a team environment

  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills

  • Must be able to work well with customers and internal team members to lead positive change in a fast-paced work environment

  • Persons occupying this position will be expected to sign an Employee Inventions and Proprietary Information agreement
