Position Summary:
The Strategic Account Manager is directly accountable for setting and achieving the sales targets for multiple strategic customers in the High Energy Laser Value Stream by owning and executing on the following responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In collaboration with High Energy Laser Value Stream Manager, define the annual strategic sales plans for significant OEM customers in the High Energy Laser market
Prepare Strategic Account Plans laying out ATF’s specific value-add for each customer, as well as customer-specific pain points and potential growth opportunities
Achieve year-on-year share increases in alignment with goals and priorities set by Value Stream and Business Development Management
Travel to each strategic customer in High Energy Laser market on a quarterly cadence, or more frequently, to ensure alignment between program expectations and ATF strategic growth plans
Support new product requests from High Energy Laser customers
Drive timely and accurate completion of 80/20 process for incoming requests and outgoing quotes
Ensure accurate communication of customer specifications to NPI and engineering teams, facilitate collaborative evolution of specifications in-line with ATF’s unique manufacturing capabilities
Act as the primary point of contact for order status requests from customers in the High Energy Laser Value Stream
Establish regular cadence for manufacturing program updates between ATF engineering and customer program management to communicate status, challenges faced, and program schedule expectations
Other duties/ functions as determined by business need or assigned by the manager or his/her designate
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Success in this position is ultimately measured by the effective collaboration with the Operations and Business Development teams to allow for the successful meeting of business goals for share and capability growth and profitability. The ideal candidate has the following characteristics:
Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills
High technical fluency in optics, lasers, and assemblies
Basic computer skills required, including facility with Microsoft Office and experience with custom CRM and ERP systems
Proven ability to effectively work cross-functionally in a high-tech organization
Proven ability to manage complexity and ambiguity in order to satisfy both internal and external demands on time and resources
Travel of 50% or more is expected
Education / Experience:
7 years or more prior experience in a technical account manager role, including 5 years in a strategic role
A bachelor’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, optics, or similar technical field is preferred
This position may require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information and employees in this role will need to meet those requirements. Requirements include US Citizenship, US Permanent Residence or ability to meet contract-specific licensure requirements.

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $92,700.00 - $139,100.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
