IDEX Accounting Manager in Cedar Falls, Iowa

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Manage all general accounting functions including maintenance of the general and fixed asset ledgers, credit and collection functions, controllership and adherence to IDEX, GAAP and SOX policies, compliance and audits for Viking Cedar Falls. Develops timely and accurate accounts receivable forecasting for Viking Cedar Falls. Oversee the General Accountant and Credit Analyst roles.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily/Weekly:

  • Maintain the general ledger account structure, including reviewing and authorizing requests for new accounts, and establishing them in the JDE for all Viking Industrial entities.

  • Review credit worthiness of customers and set or approve credit limits, selling terms, and release of customers on credit hold.

  • Maintain the account matrix between JDEdwards and OneStream.

  • Oversee all payroll related accruals and accounts.

  • Oversee the Concur expense reporting process, including serving as a back-up processor and approver.

  • Approve all fixed asset activities, including fixed asset additions and annual fixed asset audits.

  • Oversee and assist with application of cash collections to customer accounts.

  • Maintain controllership over Charitable Contribution review, including coordinating with Corporate Compliance for approval.

Monthly/Yearly:

  • Ensure the Viking and Wright Flow businesses comply to IDEX policies and procedures.

  • Ensure accurate intercompany reporting by coordinating with other IDEX Business Units.

  • Act as the owner of controllership for Viking Cedar Falls, and liaison for the foreign sites.

  • Coordinate the closing of the general ledger on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

  • Review monthly Accounts Receivable, cash collections and past due forecast, including reviewing variances to actual results.

  • Coordinate all correspondences and requirements with internal/external auditors including annual SOX compliance documentation.

  • Coordinate all correspondences and requirements with other internal/external audits including anti-corruption and R&D tax credit audits.

  • Prepare quarterly SEGROD reports for review with IT.

  • Coordinate the OneStream reconciliation process including uploading balances, reviewing risk ratings, assigning new accounts, role security and monitoring timeliness of completion.

  • Coordinate monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting to IDEX and internally to Viking Pump senior management.

  • Ensure the issuance of accurate and timely financial reporting of results and analysis in compliance with IDEX Executive Office timetables.

  • Complete all miscellaneous governmental reporting required for the business unit.

  • Oversee the AOP process for salary and fringe benefit related items, headcount and capital expenditures.

  • Enforce credit and collection policies and procedures, per IDEX Corporate requirements.

  • Ensure customer credit files are maintained in compliance with IDEX policy.

  • Oversee Red Flag compliance, including contacting distributors for updated compliance documentation.

Other:

  • Provide guidance to general accounting, credit and accounts receivable personnel and processes, including performance reviews and goal setting.

  • Responsible for all SOX compliance issues related to revenue recognition, general accounting, accounts receivable, credit and financial reporting functions.

  • Ensure accurate intercompany reporting by coordinating with other IDEX Business Units.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S. or B. A. in Accounting, Finance or related field.

  • CPA or CMA a plus.

  • 3-5 years’ progressive accounting experience.

  • Credit, collections or related experience a plus.

  • Experience in international credit, including letters of credit, bonds and drafts a bonus.

  • Leadership experience preferred.

  • Broad based financial reporting and GAAP/SOX compliance experience.
