The Operations team at Viking Pump, Inc. - A Unit of IDEX Corporation is currently accepting applications for a Supplier Development Manager.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position is responsible for managing the company's Supplier Quality Assurance system by establishing strategic plans, policies, procedures and programs at the supplier level to ensure the product and/or materials meet or exceed internal and external customers' needs and expectations. This position will lead quality, delivery and period-over-period improvements in supply base product and material. This position supports the effort to achieve and maintain alignment in the value chain between the suppliers and Viking in all form, fit, function and delivery requirements. This position leads the coordination of the Suppliers' Scorecard reporting and is responsible for Supplier Quality System approvals.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages and coordinates the company's supply base quality management systems approval process.

  • Measures, monitors and reports supplier’s fiscal conditions including pricing, OTD & DPPM

  • Coordinates the inputs, updates and regularly distributes the Supplier Scorecard reports to the suppliers and to Viking management

  • Is responsible to measure Measurement System error between Viking and the supply base by working closely with the Quality Manager and the Director/Manager Supply Chain to conduct Measurement System Evaluations as needed and subsequently is responsible to monitor and report as-delivered quality.

  • Works closely with Engineering, the Metallurgist, the Quality Manager and the Tool Design Supervisor to develop, implement and maintain supply chain measurement systems which are specific and unique to Viking requirements.

  • Works closely with the Director/Manager Supply Chain to identify and eliminate root causes of defects which are specific to logistics, packaging, warehousing and delivery.

  • Works closely with the Commodity Manager/Buyer and Supplier’s quality contact to identify and eliminate root causes of defects which are specific to product form, fit and function (NCMR process).

  • Create workbooks and evaluate documents/results in reference to Viking’s PPAP process.

  • Participate in internal and external quality audits

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA or BS degree in an industrial related field or equivalent experience.

  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing supply chain management.

  • Quality engineering/metrology experience preferred.

  • Project Management experience preferred.

OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements is preferred.

  • Up to 25% travel, including International

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
