The Director , Talent Development will design and execute the global talent and team development programs, assessment strategies and initiatives to accelerate growth of our business. This highly visible role will serve a wide variety of stakeholders across the global organization to strengthen our leadership capabilities, develop General Managers, functional leaders, key talent and high performing teams, and create alignment with our critical business priorities. This role will involve formal leadership as well as hands-on management of program details, improving processes and engaging stakeholders, while also learning from customer feedback to improve the learning experience and content. This role will also have an opportunity to help create, evolve and grow mechanisms and programs to address our employees’ development needs at scale. This position will be based at our Corporate Headquarters in Northbrook, IL. Please note: the role will start remotely.
Specific Responsibilities Include
Design and implement global talent development programs to accelerate development of high potential talent and enhance overall capability of talent at IDEX
Own IDEX Academy global leadership development programs, from talent selection criteria through assessment process, program curriculum development and on-going support
Partner with VP, Talent Management & Development in design and delivery of global leadership conferences
Support enterprise talent pipeline strategy development, deployment and tracking
Facilitate development program content in physical and virtual settings
Evaluate current talent development offerings and programs to ensure top quality content and experiences, and identify opportunities to enhance impact and new offerings as needed
Identify opportunities to scale talent development offerings and provide on-demand learning and development resources for a larger global audience
Collaborate with senior Operations business leaders and HR business partners on program content design and delivery, as well as continuous support of key talent development
Advise and consult with HR business partners on global talent developmental offerings, and approaches and tools for individual and team development
Coach high performing teams and key enterprise talent
Drive innovative approaches to learning and development and guide improvements to methodologies and processes
Effectively identify and track metrics to be able to articulate ROI of talent development initiatives
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree in Organizational Development, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, Human Resources Management, Education or related field preferred
10+ years in a progressive Talent Development or HR experience, delivering leadership development across multiple geographies
Skilled facilitator with instructional design experience
Strong communication and writing skills
Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to establish trust, credibility and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization
Able to work strategically as well as willing to roll up his/her sleeves and deliver results
Able to deal with ambiguity; adaptable and flexible to changing requirements
Excellent consultative approach and listening skills; strong customer focus
Experience with 360 assessments, assessment-for-development tools and psychometric instruments
Experience with virtual program design/delivery, on-demand and e-Learning preferred
Experience with people leadership preferred
Ability to travel up to 10-20% of the time, including international
Experience in manufacturing or similar industry preferred
