IDEX Director of Heat Transfer Sales, Americas Region (Flexible location) in Houston, Texas

Mission: The Director of Heat Transfer Sales, Americas region, Pulsafeeder SPO is responsible for leading the sales force (direct Pulsafeeder employees and manufacturer’s reps) to achieve profitable top line growth, increase sales volume and market share and meet revenue and gross margin (Annual Operating Plan) AOP targets. Individual will lead the company in expanding products and services for Pulsafeeder’s key heat transfer market segment. Leads the business unit in developing a sales strategic plan, which supports the leadership team in decision making to ensure the best use of resources in accordance with established objectives for growth and profitability. Seeks out new growth opportunities and conducts market research, competitive analysis, and other studies to assess potential benefit to the business. The individual would also be responsible for growing Pulsafeeder products’ share of wallet with existing customers and winning business with new accounts. Recommends, coordinates and tracks progress to established milestones for development of new markets and sales growth.

Reporting Relationships:

  • Reports to: Business Line Director, Heat Transfer and IoT (Internet of Things), Pulsafeeder SPO

  • Direct Reports: Regional Sales Managers and/or regional manufacturer’s representatives in US, Canada, Mexico, Caribbean and Latin America


  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the vision and strategy for growing sales and expanding product offerings in the heat transfer segment in Americas geography.

  • Market Development: Manage and enhance existing market positioning in the AWT (Association of Water Technologies) and large water treatment accounts while seeking opportunities in newer accounts in Americas region to achieve corporate growth objectives.

  • Channel Development: Develop and establish the optimum sales channel for Pulsafeeder SPO product promotion, value, and distribution for all product categories in heat transfer segment.

  • Product Positioning and Application Expertise: Recommend and implement approved price and promotion strategy as required to establish and maintain market position.

  • Coordinate with product managers to help grow strategic product lines like MicroVision EX line of controllers and Pulsatron chemical metering pumps.

  • Be the application expert in cooling tower and boiler heat transfer space by helping solve customers’ critical problems through Pulsafeeder line of products

  • Product Development: Identify and communicate customer requirements for new products as required to achieve corporate market share goals within heat transfer segment through the tollgate process.

  • Customer Management and 80-20: Maintain strategic account contacts and facilitate and promote customer satisfaction.

  • Be the champion of 80-20 principles to help overserve top accounts and ongoing account and product portfolio management

  • Forecasting: Develop and anticipate sales volumes to ensure profit generation, manufacturing level loading to ensure On Time Delivery (OTD) to the customer.

  • Sales Leadership: Drive sales with the regional sales team by directing, coaching, supporting and/or delegating, as required, by helping grow business with existing accounts and enhancing share of wallet with customers, or help sales team win new accounts by value selling Pulsafeeder portfolio of products (pumps, controllers, accessories, skid systems, etc.)

  • Technology Development: Participate in the identification of potential new emerging technology and product enhancements to the current sales portfolio in heat transfer space.

  • Process Improvement: Champion process improvement professionals and projects executed to enhance sales growth and corporate growth initiatives.


  • BA/BS Business or Engineering. MBA preferred

  • Exceptional relationship, communication and problem-solving skills; executive sales presence

  • Strong Sales Business Acumen; ability to analyze business opportunities; set territory sales goals; analyze and report on sales performance

  • Computer Literate; Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite; Strong Microsoft Excel Skills

  • 7+ years industry/technical experience: water treatment, cooling towers, boilers, electronics, Internet of Things, Connectivity

  • Demonstrated track record of organic and profitable sales growth

  • Authorization to work in the US on an on-going basis

Location/ Travel:

  • Access to major airport

  • Travel 50-75%
