Introduction

This 6-month internship as IDEX Fire & Safety Social Media Intern is fully remote. It requires innate motivation, competence, and willingness to learn. Our hope is to afford you the opportunity to gain some business experience as you explore your career path. You will be primarily responsible for social media tasks. There will be continuous interaction with the other IDEX FS team members, especially the North American Marketing & Communications team.

Expectations

Start Date / Time Commitment:

  • This agreement has an effective start date of May 2024.

  • The tentative conclusion date is October 2024.

  • Initially, this internship would be 16-20 hours per week. 4 hours per day (on average) for up to 5 days per week.

  • Typical part-time work week could be:

  • Mon 9am-1pm

  • Tue 9am-1pm

  • Wed 9am-1pm

  • Thu 9am-1pm

  • Thu 9am-1pm

  • The exact hours can be adjusted earlier or later prior to formalizing this internship opportunity.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Digital Marketing Manager for daily task assignment and management but works collaboratively with the rest of the MarCom team.

Responsibilities

Items that you are accountable for in being successful in this role:

  • Work on various facets of social media:

  • Content coordination of assets: images, copy, files for use in social media

  • Social Media calendar management, creative/copy coordination, postings, interactions management, etc

  • Assisting the MarCom team in various social media deliverables as needed.

  • Log hours and tasks in Asana in order for the team to keep social media management within scope and within the proposed amount of hours.

  • Communicate proactively with the rest of the MarCom team regarding your ability to fulfill responsibilities on social media management and projects.

  • Be present and on-time as scheduled

  • Be available for and participate in daily stand-up meetings (M-TH) and weekly MarCom team meetings (as schedule allows)

  • Provide 1 week notice to supervisor for planned absences

  • Provide some form of communication to supervisor (or secondarily, department head) in the event of an unplanned absence (phone call, email, or text)

  • High School Diploma; Working towards a Degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
